Pro Supps is at it again! It seems the Brand is holding nothing back when it comes to putting out new formulas. Today we have I-Focus, marketed as the Answer to ADD, this is an interesting category to take on. At first glance at the ingredient panel you may recognize that it looks a bit similar to some fat burners on the market, and even the brands own fat burners Vanish & DNPX. However you won’t find any fat burning ingredients which may prove quite successful for Pro Supps as not a lot of college kids are looking to fat burners to help cram for the last minute final. As far as this blogger is concerned he will be one of the first top buy I-Focus when it hits shelves sometime in July.
Now onto the ingredients!
(Looking at the amount of ingredients in this blend I wish I had some I-Focus right now!)
Caffeine Citrate- functions in much the same capacity as does caffeine, but takes effect more quickly; its speed of dissociation is faster than that of caffeine
Infinergy DiCaffeine Malate- This is a buffered caffeine salt that is both gentler on the stomach and more effective due to the shuttling effect, and the positive effect on energy replenishment that the malate ion has.
Caffeine Anhydrous- Caffeine is a compound that is seen as ‘anti-sleep’, by mimicking and blocking a molecule that induces sleepiness known as adenosine. Also a potent stimulant and fat burner; these effects, alongside some others, fade with time
R-Beta-Methylphenylethylamine & N-Methyl-B-Methyl-Phenylethylamine HCL- are derivative of PEA that doesn’t break down and allows for higher concentration of PEA in the brain
GABA– Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid is a chief neurotransmitter in the brain.
Noopept– is a racetam molecule which appears to be similar to Piracetam in effects, but at a lower oral dose. Noopept similarly is highly neuroprotective in research animals, and may enhance cognition in those with cognitive decline
5-HTP (5-Hydroxy-L-Tryptophan)- 5-HTP is the precursor to serotonin, the neurotransmitter sometimes touted to be responsible for happiness. 5-HTP is a simple way to increase brain serotonin levels
Bacopa Monnieri Extract- Bacopa Monnieri is a validated herb for improving Cognition (mostly by reducing Anxiety, although it might also increase focus) and for increasing Memory. Bacopa Monnieri is one of the more validated of the nootropics and may impact physical performance.
DMAE Bitartrate- Promotes Mind Health, Improved Mood, Antioxidant & Metabolic Boosting properties.
Choline Bitartrate- Choline is turned into the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine via the enzyme Choline Acetyltransferase (ChAT). Acetylcholine is the neurotransmitter involved in muscle contraction and is implicated in memory formation.
Oat- Natural anti-stress nutrient, helps balance formula and create calm focus.
Picamilon (Pikatropin)- is a nootropic compound that increases blood flow to the brain and lessens mental fatigue. Improves hand -eye coordination and reaction time.
Inositol- can be considered brain food, as the nutrient is necessary to properly nourish the brain, and has been researched for its effects on depression.
Rhodiola Root Extract- Rhodiola Rosea is most likely one of the most popular Adaptogen compounds, able to reduce the effects of a perceived stress. It grows in and was used historically in Europe, and is promising for reducing the perception and effects of mental and physical stress.
Citicoline Sodium-is a precursor to Acetylcholine which is a neurotransmitter involved with muscle contraction & shows benefits on memory formation.
Dendrobium Nobile (Noble Orchid) Stem Extract- Dendrobium alkaloids are thought to cause an upsurge in epinephrine, norepinephrine & dopamine.
Aegeline- which shows antihyperlipidemic, antihyperglycemic and antidyslipidemic properties in diabetic rat models.
Huperzia Serrata (std. min 1% Huperzine A)- blocks an enzyme from breaking down acetylcholine which is known as the learning neurotransmitter, and is involved in muscle contraction as well. Increasing levels of acetylcholine is routinely used as a technique amongst weight-lifters and scholars.
So whether you’re a college student trying to ace a term paper, a desk-jockey who needs a brain boost that coffee just can’t handle or a weary supplement junky then I-Focus will definitely be an interesting product to try!
